We have way to many problems

What is happening everyone?

Hope you're all doing well, I know I am. This week went by crazy fast which was awesome, we had just about every lesson this week fall through, but that's ok. Decorated my room a bit, and had a lot of time to perfect my bike riding skills. I have officially learned how to ride a bike with no hands, I know, I know, it's ok to be intimidated, it's only natural.😜

But this week we have had a bunch of problems, for starters, my companion's back brake on his bike doesn't work, and his gears no longer shift, so that's fun.

One of my roommate's was having crazy weird allergies, he told us that he stuffed tissues up his nose and put on his mask so that way he could make it through their lesson. It sounded crazy funny though when he had to read some scriptures, I was dying.πŸ˜…

My other roommate had to go to urgent care the other day because he had this crazy side pain. He kept telling us that he was dying, so hopefully he doesn't, but we'll see.

A really cool thing about Arizona though is that because it is so flat I get to see some really cool sunsets everyday, it's actually awesome. So I'll be sure to send some to you all.

A really cool experience I had this week was when we went and visited this one member. Because of COVID we aren't allowed to knock on anyone's door, but if we have a member with us we can knock on other members doors. So we went to go knock on this one members door, and she answers and explains how the day before her brother had just had a seizure for an hour, and that she was going through a really hard time. It was really cool to see the Lord guide us to who needed His help. She told us that it always seemed like whenever she was going through a hard time we would show up, and it made me really grateful that I am able to be an instrument in God's hand while I am out here.

But I want to thank you all again for reaching out to me, it really means a lot. But I hope you are all staying safe out there, if you ever need someone to talk I'm free pretty much all day today. Peace out y'all

It's a wonderful day to be a missionary

Hello everyone,

Once again I hope you are all doing well, I have been doing alright here. Nothing too exciting happened this week, but I'm trying to make the most of it.

This week was Zone Conference, so that means we had a bunch of meetings everyday this week, I know super exciting 🀒. But basically they just talk to us about ways we can improve and what things we can do to be better, so as expected I had nothing to work on😜

We had a bunch of potential lessons where we could start teaching people this week but unfortunately about half of them canceled, so that left our week fairly open with a lot of down time, which in missionary work means not a lot of fun.

But one lesson this week, I invited someone to be baptized!!! Which was super exciting, but sadly they said they were already baptized in another church, so we then explained the need to be baptized in our church and they said they would think about it, so I'm 0 for 1 on baptismal invitations.

As some of you might know my companion is a very by the book, and I mean by the book person. So sometimes it is very hard to have some fun with him. One thing he is crazy strict about is wasting time, he hates wasting time, and I totally understand that but sometimes we all need a break, right? But by some miracle this week I managed to convince my companion to walk with me to a lesson to try and relax a little bit, which was really nice and it is so weird to me that it's January and I can walk outside with a short sleeve shirt on and not be freezing cold, it's honestly amazing.

One day this week, we went to our roommate's church building to work on stuff because they live closer to our apartment and can give us a ride, so it's a win win. But we walked outside to leave and realized that we left out bikes inside and the key our roommates have don't work after 9:00 pm so we had to leave our bikes there overnight and they were left out in the main entrance, which caused for some problems because we had church the next day, so that was a really fun one to explain to their bishop the next day, ahaha 😁

But all in all, a rather uneventful week, other than those things. But let me know how you guys have been, I have loved getting emails from you guys, sorry if I have not responded I promise I will get to them. Love you all so much

I'm still here don't worry πŸ˜‰

Sup my people,

How are you all doing today? Hope you all are doing well. I am doing pretty fantastic, thanks for asking. This week has been pretty weird to say the least.

We have been biking a ton, and I kid you not my quads have like doubled in size... ok not actually but we have been pretty busy this week which has been fun, had some really cool lessons, and have been meeting some pretty cool people.

We started teaching two new people this week, which was awesome. One of them was someone we just called out of the blue to check in. And he answered and told us that he has really been looking for God in his life recently and we were like, we know how to help you with that. The other person was a part member family, and the husband whose wife had been a member her whole life, and they've been married for 20 years just recently started wanting to know more about church, and what our church is all about, so we said we can most definitely help you with that. It has been really cool to see God working so many small miracles to help us bring His children closer to Him.

On a rather, what I thought was funny, note. One of my roommate's was just sitting in his chair looking out the window and he looked out at his bike, which is supposed to be locked up and his back tire was gone. I saw that and just started laughing because I thought it was funny how they just took the back tire and nothing else.

We also tried to make some cookies to drop off to some people the missionaries that were here once taught, to try and get in contact with them. And as you know from my previous cooking disaster's I am not the best cook. But I still tried nonetheless and I'm not gonna lie I was pretty proud of myself for those cookies.

But that's about all from me, nothing too crazy this week. I hope to hear from you all, let me know if I can do anything for ya. Stay safe out there.

New homie in town🏑

What is up everybody,

How are y'all doing? I'm doing pretty good thanks for asking. This week was pretty cool, nothing crazy happened, but I enjoyed it.

To start off, we got a new homie in our apartment, his name is Elder Wilson, pretty cool guy. He's from Colorado, and the funny thing is that he is technically a new missionary, yet he's actually older than me, which is a little annoying but I'm chillin.

Things have slowed down a bunch this week because of New Years and we are no longer covering more than one area. So a lot of what we do is calling and texting people, along with Facebook work. And lemme tell ya Facebook is the bane of my existence, it drives me crazy because I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing half the time, but at least I'm trying, right?

We have been getting a little bored with things slowing down, so we decided we would try to spice things up a bit. We got bored one day while we were working at the church so we decided to take our bikes and see who could do a lap around the church the fastest. It was awesome, I had a blast, and obviously I won πŸ˜‰ But definitely don't try that at home, we are trained professional idiots so don't worry.

We have been struggling to get into contact with some people we are teaching, because they just dont want to answer the phone, and since we can't just knock on their door, because of stupid COVID stuff, we've pretty much run out of options. So my companion thought that it would be a good idea to ask one of our members if they would be willing to knock on their door, and believe it or not they said yes so that's pretty exciting. That gave me a ton of respect for some of our members because I know if I was home I don't think I would be able to do that.

For New Years Eve the Elders in my apartment decided to make this drink that a member showed us. It's called a Lime Ricky and oh my goodness it is amazing, it involves about 3/4 Sprite, 1/4 Grape juice, and of course half a lime, you mix all those together and you have heaven on earth. I'm telling you it is absolutely fantabulous.

Luckily we are back to biking everywhere which is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because it's an extra workout with all these Lime Ricky's I'm drinking, but obnoxious because it takes forever to get place to place. But I swear by the time I get back my quads are going to be ginormous.

But that's about it for this week, lemme know how you all have been doing. I hope you all stay safe out there with all the crazy COVIDness that's going around. Peace out y'all
